Jems December Blog Hop - a review of 2016

Here's my favourite card of 2016, using one of my favourite stamps sets - Jar of Love.
I saw the card at one of our Jems social stamping events when our Stampin Up Mummy,
Julie was making this card.
Julie was kind enough to give me the website of the Stampin' Up Demo who designed this card, Bronwyn Eastley, and I was able to purchase the instructions from her.

Here you can see all the panels of the card wide open.

This is view of the card closed, and fits into a regular size C6 envelope

Card view as it is displayed on mantelpiece/sideboard

View from above showing the mechanics of the picket fence and pop-out

If you fancy having a go at making this card (and have several hours to spare!)
you can purchase the instructions from Bronwyn
at addinktivedesigns.com
and I hope you get as much pleasure in making it as I have done.

My just in case I forget card!

I wanted to make sure that if by chance I forget someone's birthday, I would have
a card ready made , that I could simply write on and pop in the post.
Here's what I came up with using the beautiful Blooms and Bliss DSP , Crumb Cake card,
the Vertical Greetings stamp set and a retired sentiment ,
the only belated greeting that I own would you believe!)

Now, even if I forget the date, I can post off this card the next day!!
I really hope that I don't need it, but at least I'm prepared!

I have used the Jar of Love stamp set and the matching Thinlits dies.
I think that Ann will love this card as much as I do.
Happy Birthday Ann.

Happy Birthday Leo!

Today sees the 4th birthday of my Great-nephew (Chris's Grandson), Leo.
Here's  the card I made for him.

I have used the Foxy DSP stack for the background.
Colour combo is Soft Sky, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Basic Gray and Smokey Slate.
Large letters and Large Numbers Thinlits dies were used  for his name and age, plus the banner.
The sentiment is from the Number of Years stamp set.

hedgehog couple and think that it's quite sweet and suitable for an anniversary.

We are going out for a meal with them both tonight and looking forward to it,
Happy Anniversary!

Christmas Crafting with Chris - Santa's Sleigh

Here's a card that I made earlier this month when Chris and I managed to get together
and do some Christmas crafting.  We are getting a few more Christmas projects made now,
and here's one of the more time consuming projects she found for us to make.

Card fully open showing double Z fold.

Card folded flat ready for posting

We just used the Santa's Sleigh Thinlits dies for this card, with a colour combo
of Crumb Cake, White, Silver and Gold, and the Softly Falling  embossing folder.
Love it!!

My fairy Golf-mother's birthday card.

Remember the card that I did for Glynis' birthday recently, well here's another
one made using the Blooms and Bliss DSP, this time in a different colour way.
Island Indigo, Mint macaron and Sahara Sand this time,
but equally as pretty!

I made this for my lovely friend Ann, who looked after me when
I first joined the Golf Club, and I called her my Fairy Golf-mother,
and still do!
Have a great day Ann!

Happy Birthday Jackie!

Today is my good friend Jackie's special birthday, she is 80 today,
so I had to mark the occasion with a very special card.

The colour combo is Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, and Perfect Plum.
The stamp sets used are the  Number of Years and Stylized Birthday.
The Large Numbers Thinlits were used to cut the 80, then I covered in glue
and applied dazzling diamonds. I think you can just see the glittery effect.
A smattering of bling here and there - and voila!
Hope that you have a fabulous day Jackie, sorry we can't be with you today,
but we'll raise a toast to your birthday this evening!
Happy Birthday!

Glynis's birthday card

Last Thursday was the birthday of my golfing partner from my old golf club at Sandhill, Glynis.
We used to play doubles match play together, and even won the trophy a few times!
Just to let her know that I hadn't forgotten her, I made her this card.

This features the beautiful Blooms and Bliss DSP, which I have utterly fallen in love with!
The colour combo is Sweet Sugar Plum, Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand.
I just love this colour combo.

Watch out later this month for another birthday card made using these papers!

Happy Birthday Janet

Last Monday, my friend and ex Julies' Jem Stampin Up demonstrator, Lynda, travelled down
here to join me for a day of crafting and we had a lovely time.
Lynda wanted to use the Foxy Friends stamps and punch to make a card,
and I needed to make a card for Janet, one of my craft class ladies,
whose birthday was yesterday - here it is

Happy Birthday Janet - hope you had a great day.

Get Well Soon Janice

Found out late yesterday afternoon that my sister in law (Barry and Chris's sister) had been kept
in hospital yesterday, after being admitted the night before with a severe chest infection.
Following preliminary tests it appears that she is suffering from heart failure
and has to remain in whilst they carry out further tests.
We are just going to visit her, so I have made a get well card that I hope will cheer her up a little .
It is made using the stamp set Pretty Kitty, and Janice loves cats!

Get well soon Janice!

Amanda's Birthday

As well as yesterday being the Jems All Day Training Day, it was fellow Jem, Amanda's birthday.
We celebrated in usual style with cake, Chris and I bought her flowers, and here is the card
that I made for her.

I have combined two stamp sets to create this little scene,
Pretty Kitty and Bella and Friends.
I really enjoyed colouring in these stamped images, it always takes me back
to my childhood,  when I would spend ages colouring . I always looked forward to
Christmas for getting new crayons and colouring books - such simple pleasures!

Jems All Day Christmas Training.

Today I am off to the Paper Haven, with Chris, to spend the day with fellow Jems and of course with Julie my Stampin Up mummy, to spend time crafting, using items from the new Autumn/Winter catalogue.  I decided that instead of doing a Christmas themed swap I would use the Halloween
Cookie Cutter stamp set with the matching Cookie Cutter Builder punch.
There are 13 of us getting together today, and as usual I did different cards for my swaps as I have a very low boredom threshold!  Here they are.......

Vampire!!

Mummy

Skeleton
List of materials used:
Cardstock - Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie/Wild Wasabi/Perfect Plum
and Thick Whisper White
Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp set
Cookie Cutter Builder Punch
